ResponseShield ("we") builds HSSE products for offshore oil & gas. This notice explains what personal data this website handles, why, and what your rights are. It's written to be read, not scrolled past.
What we collect, and why
- Contact form: your name, company, work email, and message — used solely to respond to your enquiry and, where relevant, to arrange the demo, pilot, or call you asked about. Legal basis: taking steps at your request prior to a contract (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)) and our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries.
- Product updates (optional): if you tick the updates box, or join the Emergency Response waitlist, we store your email to send occasional product news. Legal basis: consent (Art. 6(1)(a)). Every such email includes a way to opt out, and you can withdraw consent at any time.
- Technical logs: our web server keeps standard access logs (IP address, time, page requested) for security and reliability — kept short-term and not used for profiling.
Cookies and tracking
Today, this website sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising trackers. That is why you don't see a cookie banner — there is nothing to consent to.
If we introduce analytics or advertising cookies in the future, a consent banner will appear before any such cookie is set, and this notice will be updated first. Nothing will be tracked retroactively or silently.
Where your data lives
Form submissions are stored on our own private server, hosted in an OVHcloud data centre in Canada (Beauharnois, Québec). Canada holds a European Commission adequacy decision for data protected under Canadian federal privacy law. We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with third parties except where required to operate the service or by law.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries: as long as the conversation is live, then archived for up to 24 months.
- Mailing-list emails: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.
- Server logs: rotated on a short cycle (weeks, not years).
Your rights
You can ask us at any time to access, correct, export, or delete the personal data we hold about you, to withdraw consent, or to object to processing. Email rafa@magalhaes.one and we'll act on it promptly. If you believe we've handled your data unlawfully, you also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.
Our product is separate
The ResponseShield training application (app.responseshield.com) is a separate system used under agreement with your employer or training provider; it uses strictly functional session state (such as access authentication) and its data handling is governed by the applicable service agreement, not this website notice.
